ATARC Mobile Working Group Project Teams

The ATARC Mobile Working Group is a technical working group of government, academia and private industry thought leaders collaborating on topics of interest to the Federal mobility community. The group’s goal is to provide the Federal Government with recommendations for methods to increase efficiency and reduce cost using cutting-edge mobile solutions.

1. Mobile Roadmap Project Team

This project group will assist the Mobile Services Category Team and help define the 10 mobile sub-components from the MSCT’s Mobile Services Roadmap. The project team will also identify industry solutions in each category as well as the contract vehicles the government can utilize to purchase this technology. In addition, the project team will collaborate with the other Project Teams to compile official government policy and guidance documents.

2. Mobile Application Vetting Project Team

This team will focus on the vetting mobile applications for software vulnerabilities, examining the security policies and protection profiles established by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP), as well as the tools and technologies Federal agencies can utilize to perform app vetting. The team will also discuss topics such as reciprocity between agencies and impact of frequent application updates.

3. Mobile Backend-as-a-Service (MBaaS) Project Team

This project team will examine the components of Mobile Backend-as-a-Service (MBaas), such as APIs, connectors and Web Applications, and discuss ways Federal agencies can utilize MBaaS technology to extend legacy platforms and databases to mobile devices and applications.

4. Mobile Customer Experience Project Team

This project team will examine ways that Federal agencies can better utilize customer experience technologies and techniques to improve the public-facing mobile applications that serve the citizens of the United States.

5. Mobile Device-as-a-Service (DaaS) Project Team

This Project Team will examine Device-as-a-Service (DaaS) from a mobile perspective and analyze a model that allows agencies to outsource the deployment, management, servicing and recycling of mobile devices. The Team will also investigate how the DaaS model impacts procurement with a shift of mobile devices from a one-time capital expenditure to a monthly-recurring operating expenditure.

10. Mobile Security Ecosystem Project Team
